Topshop

Do you love British fast fashion?  I do.  I'm a big fan of Topshop, although it can be rather pricey.  I always stop by the SoHo store in NYC when I get the chance.  If you can't make it to the NYC location or the Chicago location, don't worry!  14 Nordstrom stores across the country will soon be carrying (September 10) a line of Topshop/Topman clothing.  Click here to learn more!

BB Creams: Yay or Nay?

BB Creams have only recently made an appearance on the US beauty market.  BB creams, also known as Blemish Balm, originated in Asia.  BB creams are a one step product as they brighten, moisturizer, prime, and offer light coverage for your face.  Maybelline, Covergirl, Gariner, and L'oreal have all come out with their own version of BB creams but I've heard none of them are actually BB creams.  I don't know which brand to try.  Have you tried BB cream?  Any recommendations?

Beautiful Burgundy

Rich jewel tones are always in for the fall, think emerald green or sapphire blue.  However, this year it's all about the burgundy.  Burgundy is a beautiful color that compliments all skin tones.  The best part is that it goes with black and brown - so it will match with almost anything!  I've seen burgundy fall pieces at H & M, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales.  I'm totally going to be stocking up on burgundy sweaters!

Get Glowing Skin

Who doesn't want beautiful glowing skin?  Glowing skin looks so healthy and gorgeous.  I have an easy routine for you.  The best part is that it's totally inexpensive!

  • Everything starts at the roots - with your skin.  Eat a well-balanced diet and drink plenty of water.  You've probably heard that before!
  • Next I recommend exfoliating your skin.  If you have a lot of dry flaky skin I recommend the Saint Ives Apricot Scrub.  If you're skin isn't patchy and dry I recommend the Saint Ives Green Tea Scrub.
  • Next you need to keep your skin conditioned.  I recommend using Witch Hazel (as mentioned in my last  post) followed by a gel moisturizer, I use the Garnier Moisture Rescue.
  • The last step is to mix an illuminator into your foundation.  A lot of people recommend against this if you have oily skin.  I have oily skin but I still use an illuminator, just make sure it isn't too shimmery.  I use the Elf Shimmering Facial Whip in spotlight - it's only $1.  I make a 10% illuminator, 90% foundation mix.

Natural Beauty

I love all the beauty products I use but sometimes I wish they didn't have so many nasty chemicals. There are some great all natural products out there that I have been trying to add to my daily routine in place of chemical laden treatments.  My favorite is Witch Hazel, a natural astringent.  I use it as a toner, it controls oiliness and reduces redness.  It's gentle and also cleanses.  I use it twice a day, in the morning and at night.  At night I usually use Witch Hazel and then put a light gel moisturizer on top.  You can find it at drugstores for under $10.
